Islamabad, Jan 22 (Xinhua) The US-led coalition forces in Afghanistan Monday bombed Pakistani territory, killing one soldier and injuring two, a Pakistani army statement said.
"Today at 14:55 hours (9:55 GMT) in an unfortunate incident close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, coalition forces mistakenly fired on one of our posts near Shawal, North Waziristan Agency," said the statement from the army's Inter-Services Public Relations.
It said one soldier was killed and two others were injured in this incident.
"A strong protest has been lodged with the coalition authorities about the incident asking them to investigate the matter and take necessary steps to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in future," the statement added.
