Documentary films on Muslim freedom fighters in the offing

New Delhi, Feb 26 (Indianmuslims.info) A private film-producing centre named Mainstream Productions said in a statement here Monday that it will start soon releasing a grand series of documentary films on the Muslim freedom fighters who laid their lives while struggling for the independence of their motherland. This is the first ever move of this kind.

This move marking the ongoing 150 years celebrations of the first war of independence 1857 aims at acquainting the younger generations with the zeal and enthusiasm, sense of devotion and patriotism of Muslim freedom fighters which shook the very foundations of British rule in India.

“The documentary films which are near completion include those on Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan, Maulana Mazhar Jafar Thanseri, Shaheed Sher Ali, Shaheed Peer Ali, Maulana Fazle Haque Khairabadi and others who were exiled to Malta. This first release of documentary films will also include one on the active leaders of Reshmi Roomal Movement,� the centre’s director Ziyaur Rahman and assistant director Riyaz Arshad Nazish said in the statement.

They added that earlier they have already released documentary films on Indo-Pak relations and suicide, which have been warmly received.
