Yemen ratify physical nuclear material protection convention

Sana'a, March 26 (NNN-Saba) Yemen Parliament ratified Sunday the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material Treaty in the light of a report by
Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee.

The report says that the treaty gives the right to all countries to develop nuclear energy to be used peacefully, stressing the importance of nuclear material protection when using it.

Then the parliament listened to a number of inquires directed to concerned ministers regarding its observation tasks and formed a
special fact finding committee.

A total of 116 countries, including 10 Arab nations, inked this treaty.

Yemen's inclusion to the treaty confirms its good foreign policy under the leadership of President Ali Abdullah Saleh who is keen on international peace and security.
