Six Muslims qualify for 84th Short Service Commission Course
New Delhi, Aug 24(IndianMuslims.info) The UPSC has declared the final results of Combined Defence Services Examination – II, 2005. 472 candidates have been finally qualified on the basis of the results of the Combined Defence Services Examination-II, 2005 conducted by the UPSC and the Interviews held by the Services Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence for admission to the Officers Training Academy, Chennai (Madras) for 84th Short Service Commission Course commencing in October, 2006. The results also include the names of the candidates who were recommended earlier on the basis of results of the same examination for admission to Indian Military Academy, Dehradun/Naval Academy Goa – Course, Air Force Station, Begumpet, Hyderabad Course(s).
This year, six Muslims find a place in the results list with Mohammad Ali Zishan leading the Muslim representation at 119th place. Next Atique Uzzaman is at 221. Six Muslims among 472 candidates make their representation 1.27%. In the same examination last year, representation was 2.09% with three of them in top 100 list : Iftekhar Ahmad at 16, Najmuddin Saify at 36 and Junaid Parvez at 85.
The number of vacancies, as intimated by the Government for Short Service Commission Course is 175.
