UPA appeasing Muslims by going soft on Afzal issue: VHP

Ballia, Oct 19 (ZEENEWS.COM) The UPA government is seeking to appease the Muslim community by adopting a soft stance on the death sentence awarded to Parliament attack case convict Mohammad Afzal Guru, VHP leader Pravin Togadia alleged on Wednesday.

The campaign for clemency to Afzal Guru is aimed at satisfying and pleasing the Muslims, he said, speaking at a 'Hindu Sangam' here.

"In Kashmir, Hindus are said to be at the receiving end because they are in minority but at other places like Mau where they are in majority they are being subjected to immense hardships and harassment," Togadia claimed.

The caste-ridden Hindu community should stand united to "overcome the exploitation it is currently undergoing", he said.
