Dehradun, Sep 8 (IANS) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Friday asserted that the terror attacks on Mumbai trains that killed nearly 200 people in July were not linked to the Gujarat sectarian violence of 2002.

Modi, here to attend the Bharatiya Janata Party's National Executive, said he had suggested to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to set up a committee on internal security.

Media reports had suggested in July that the perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks wanted to avenge the killings in Gujarat four years ago.
