Ahmedabad, Sep 8 (IANS) Gujarat was on alert after two bomb blasts in neighbouring Maharashtra killed several people Friday afternoon.

"Security has been tightened at vital installations and religious places across the state," Principal Secretary (Home) K.C. Kapoor said.

The bomb explosions took place in Malegaon town of Nashik district.
