Judicial probe against former Kerala minister
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 8 (IANS) A judicial probe was ordered Friday into allegations that former Kerala public works minister P.J. Joseph had misbehaved with a woman passenger on board a flight last month.
"We have decided to order a judicial probe. The terms of reference would be decided later," Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan said after the weekly cabinet meeting. "We expect the probe to be completed at the earliest."
Joseph handed in his papers to Achuthanandan Monday after Inspector General of Police B. Sandhya submitted his report Saturday.
Joseph had allegedly misbehaved with a 53-year-old woman on a Kingfisher Chennai-Kochi flight Aug 3. He came under pressure to quit the cabinet after the media splashed the incident.
A judicial probe into such an incident is being ordered for the first time in the state. Joseph had met Achuthanandan Wednesday.
