BJP condemns Malegaon blasts

Dehradun, Sept 9 (ZEENEWS.COM) The BJP today condemned the blasts in Malegaon in Maharashtra and said the attack has underscored the need for better management of "internal security" in the country.

A party official quoted senior BJP leader L K Advani as having told the party`s national executive that the Malegaon blasts coming in "quick succession" of the Mumbai bombing was a serious matter.

"The government should manage issues of internal security in a better manner," he quoted Advani as saying.

In his comments, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi blamed the Malegaon explosions on the UPA`s "soft approach" towards terrorism.

"We condemn the attack and feel that it is high time the government took immediate review of the internal security. Such attacks are a result of the government`s soft approach towards terrorism," Naqvi said.

Put checks on Pak: Vajpayee

In the wake of Malegaon blasts, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today said "checks" have to be imposed on Pakistan.

"Holding or not holding talks does not matter until steps are taken to put checks on Pakistan," he told a public rally here.

Vajpayee, who initiated the peace process with Pakistan, said dialogue should continue but the fight against terrorism should be intensified.
