Islamabad to get security cameras
Islamabad, Sept 9 (IRNA) Pakistani capital Islamabad will have security cameras at public places and entry and exits points, officials said on Friday.
A high level meeting in the Interior Ministry reviewed the security arrangements in the capital and discussed all aspects of the proposed installation of security cameras.
A committee constituted to devise the plan will submit its recommendations to the ministry within two weeks in order to carry out the plan expeditiously.
Official sources said the cameras would be installed at all entry and exit points of the city and public and private places including markets, shopping malls and main worship sites.
Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, who chaired the meeting, said the government is utilizing all available resources to protect the public properties and lives.
He said training on modern lines is being imparted to police and they have been provided with the latest equipment for discharging their duties more efficiently.
The Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure foolproof security arrangements during the Holy month of Ramazan.
