Baghdad, Sep 9 (DPA) Two successive explosions ripped through the Iraqi city of Kirkuk Saturday, killing six people - two of them children - and wounding 14 others.

One attack targeting a police patrol in the city killed three people including a local police officer. The bomb exploded as the patrol passed by.

The other explosive device was detonated on the side of the highway to Baghdad, killing three civilians and injuring 14.
