Bush vows to bring perpetrators of 9/11 to justice

Washington, Sep 9 (DPA) US President George Bush sought to send a "clear message" to those plotting to strike the US, ahead of fifth anniversary of Sep 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

"No matter how long it takes, we will find you and bring you to justice," Bush said in his weekly radio address Saturday.

Bush gave a series of speeches on terrorism this week in the run-up to Monday's anniversary, highlighted by the admission Wednesday that the US had been holding key Al Qaeda suspects at secret CIA prisons around the world.

Bush said the last 14 Al Qaeda suspects held at such prisons, including the alleged mastermind of the Sep 11 attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, had been transferred to the country's facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to await trial.

"This (CIA) programme has been invaluable to the security of America and its allies, and helped us identify and capture men who our intelligence community believes were key architects of the Sep 11 attacks," he said.

Bush and his wife Laura will travel to New York on Sunday for a series of commemorations of the 2001 attacks. The US president plans to lay a wreath at Ground Zero, where the World Trade Centre towers, struck by two hijacked planes five years ago, once stood.
