Bomb blast injures 14 in Pakistan

Islamabad, Sep 10 (DPA) A powerful explosion in Quetta injured 14 persons and caused widespread damage, media reports said Sunday.

State-run television PTV said the explosion was caused by a home-made bomb strapped to a bicycle left near a row of restaurants in the city's Prince Road.

ARYOne World private television channel said the injured included one woman and five children. The explosion damaged two cars and several restaurants and shops in the street.

Quetta is the capital of Balochistan province that has been rocked by a tribal insurgency supported by nationalists demanding rights over the gas and other natural resources of the province, which borders Iran and Afghanistan.
