New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS) Joshna Chinappa and Sourav Ghoshal lifted the women's and men's titles respectively in the 54th Senior National Squash Championship played at the Delhi Gymkhana Club here Sunday.

In the finals, defending champion Joshna defeated Dipika Pallikal 9-2, 9-5, 9-4 to win the title for the sixth time, while last year's runner-up Sourav defeated Gaurav Nandrajog 9-3, 9-2, 9-6, to win his second national title.

Joshna, who had a cakewalk in the semi-finals, had to toil hard for the win. In the second set, Dipika had almost caught up with Joshna who, however, managed to slid away with a 9-5 win and rallied on to win the match.

It was no different story for Sourav either. In the third set he was leading 8-2 but a sudden drift in concentration saw him nearly losing the set. Taking advantage of the situation, Gaurav came back strongly but eventually lost 6-9.
