Madrid, Sep 19 (Xinhua) India's Saina Nehwal lost to Jiang Yanjiao of China 10-21, 16-21 in the women's first round of the World Badminton Championships.

The Indian teen sensation, who shot into limelight by winning the Malaysian Open, Monday proved no match for the higher ranked Chinese and went down tamely.

In the men's first round, Chetan Anand of India gave a tough fight to Lee Hyun Li of South Korea before going down by 18-21, 21-18 and 10-21.

Losing the first set, world No. 25 Chetan came back strongly to pocket the second set but failed to give a tough fight in the third set.
