Kalam arrives in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 21 (IANS) President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam arrived here Thursday on a 15-hour visit.
Kalam was received at the airport here by Governor R.L. Bhatia and Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan among others.
His programme in the Kerala capital includes inauguration of a seminar at the Sree Chitra Thirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology.
He later presents the Sree Chithra Thirunal Award to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman G. Madhavan Nair.
Nair is Kalam's former colleague at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre here, where they worked together for over two decades till the eighties.
The president leaves for Kanyakumari Friday after spending the night at Raj Bhavan here.
