Student dies in Kashmir blast
Srinagar, Sep 21 (IANS) A student was killed and two others were wounded when separatist guerrillas carried out a powerful explosion at a village in north Kashmir Thursday.
Police said the guerrillas tossed a grenade at a passing army vehicle that was part of a convoy on the Srinagar-Gulmarg road near Chandilora village, 38 km from here.
"The grenade hit one of the trucks and fell and exploded on the road injuring three school children," said a police officer here.
"One critically injured student identified as Bilal Ahmed Ahangar succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to Srinagar for treatment."
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion.
