Govt approves MoU between India, France to promote tourism
New Delhi, Sept 23 (ZEENEWS.COM) In a bid to give a Filip to tourism between India and France, government today approved a memorandum of understanding to enhance tourist arrivals in both the countries.
The MoU, which aims at encouraging quality destinations in the two countries and strengthening cooperation in tourism marketing activities, was given ex-post facto approval by the Union Cabinet, an official spokesperson said.
The agreement was signed between the two countries in February during the visit of the French President to India.
It also aims at promoting human resource development in tourism and travel, exchange of experiences in tourism administration and management and provide new tourism offers.
The Cabinet approved another MoU on cooperation in marine and fisheries between India and Indonesia, which was signed last November.
The MoU seeks cooperation in various fields including aquaculture development, exchange information and data, impart education, training and work on coastal fisheries management, among other things.
