Civilian honours for three Indians
New Delhi, Sep 29 (IANS) Three Indians have been conferred the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for the year 2006 - one of Britain's highest civilian honours founded nearly 90 years ago - for promoting India-Britain relations in business, education and culture.
British High Commissioner to India Michael Arthur conferred OBE honour to Supriya Banerji, senior director at the Confederation of Indian Industry, educationist Jag Mohan Puri and actor Roshan Seth at his residence Wednesday evening.
"Their outstanding contribution in cementing Britain-India relations through diverse fields like business, education, theatre, film and television is a fine example to us all," said Arthur.
