CM urged to ensure sufficient loans for Muslims

Hyderabad, April 10 (Indianmuslims.info) Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen Legislature Party leader Akbaruddin Owaisi once again drew the attention of the government toward the problems Muslims have been facing in the State. He was participating in the discussion on the speech made by the Governor in the cabinet here Monday.

He said that implementation of Sachar Committee recommendations and Prime Minister’s 15-point programme is a must for the welfare of Muslims.

He added that the amount provided by banks as loans to Muslims is very meagre while on the advice of the Bank Division of Union Ministry of Finance, the Reserve Bank of India had directed all scheduled commercial banks to treat the minorities as equal beneficiaries of bank loans. And one of the Sachar panel recommendations is also to provide Muslims with loans on preferential basis. He underlined the need for increase in the amount of loans.

Mr Owaisi asked the Chief Minister Dr YS Rajshekhar Reddy to ensure providing of loans for minorities in considerable amount.

He urged the Chief Minister to earmark Rs. 5,000 crore, out of the total Rs. 40,000 crore given as loans on preferential basis every year, for minorities especially Muslims.
