EU calls on Iran to implement UNSC resolutions
Brussels, April 10, (IRNA) The European Commission, the EU's executive body, urged the Islamic Republic Tuesday to comply to its obligations under the NPT.
"Iran should comply to its obligations under the non-proliferation treaty and that it should implement the UN Security Council resolution," Commission spokesperson for external relations, Christiane Hohmann, told reporters in Brussels.
She was replying to a question during the daily press conference at the European Commission on the announcement by Iran to expand nuclear enrichment.
Meanwhile, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Monday that Iranian nuclear program is transparent and all Iranian nuclear sites are open to IAEA inspection.
"Iran abides by its undertakings consistent with NPT and IAEA Safeguards," the president said in a ceremony to mark the 'National Day for Nuclear Technology' and inauguration of fuel cycle at industrial level.
He deplored emergence of pressure and bullying of the certain powers in the procedure for adopting the UN Security Council resolutions after collapse of the former Soviet Union in 1990.
