Jordon to help Iraq rebuild telecom sector

AMMAN, Aug 22 (NNN-KUNA) -- Jordanian Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Basim Al-Rousan has said that Jordan is working to help Iraq rebuild its telecommunication sector.

Al-Rousan's comment came in a press release after a recent meeting with Iraqi Communications Minister Mohammad Alawi Wednesday, where an agreement was reached concerning efforts to rebuild the telecommunications sector and benefiting from Jordan's experience and specialization.

A visit for Iraqi telecommunication employees is being organised to acquaint them with Jordan's experience, Al-Rousan said.

Iraq's telecommunication sector requires reorganisation and rebuilding, which in turn will greatly help the government bring in revenue.

Recently, the Iraqi government granted Kuwait's Mobile Telecommunication Company (MTC), among others, a mobile service licence in the country.
