Mortar blast shakes Baghdad meeting venue

Baghdad, March 10(IRNA) A mortar blast jolted the venue of Baghdad meeting in the al-Khadhra district minutes ago, Saturday.

IRNA quoting an Iraqi security official reported the mortar exploded in the region named "Unknown Soldier" in the al-Khadhra district.

The official, who asked to be anonymous, said because of the special security measures in al-Khadhra district, the blast won't probably have any casualties, but the details of the event have not been declared by official sources yet.

Severe security measures have been taken in Baghdad on Saturday, where an important meeting is to be held with representatives from five permanent members of UN Security Council and Iraq's neighbours.

Military forces are controlling all traffic in the capital.

According to IRNA, the meeting, which was scheduled to start at 10:30 local time, has been postponed because some Arab countries' representatives had not arrived at the venue by then.
