Haryana declared neonatal tetanus-free

Chandigarh, March 24 (IANS) Haryana has been declared free of neonatal tetanus by the central government.

State Health Minister Kartar Devi said Saturday that a communication had been received from the central health and family welfare ministry, declaring that neonatal tetanus had been eliminated from Haryana.

The status has been conferred on the basis of a survey conducted by the central ministry on births in the state during 2006.
