Cuba, China begin economic and trade commission meeting

Havana, March 27 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) Cuba and China began the session of the 19th Inter-governmental Economic and Trade Commission here Monday.

Cuba's delegation is led by Government Minister Ricardo Cabrisas and includes Minister for Foreign Investment and Economic Co-operation (MINVEC) Marta Lomas.

The Chinese delegation is led by Assistant Trade Minister Wei Jian Guo and Ambassador to Cuba Zhao Rong Xiang, plus businessmen and executives.

The meeting, which will address 2006 economic and commercial ties and outline 2007 strategies, will end Tuesday with the signing of a Final Document.

Wei will follow a broad agenda of interviews with Cuban government officials and visit joint co-operation projects.

MINVEC sources said this 19th session would also address political and cultural exchanges, among other spheres.
