Arab leaders end first day of meetings
Riyadh, March 29 (NNN-KUNA) Arab leaders meeting in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, have ended their closed-door session on Wednesday and are due to resume meetings Thursday.
The leaders or their representatives are discussing a variety of political, economic and social issues that aimed at improving the conditions in the Arab world in general.
Tackling the Arab-Israeli conflict, the developments in Lebanon and Iraq and clearing the Middle East from weapons of mass destruction (WMD) are key political issues on the agenda.
Setting a timetable to launch the custom union, completing measures of the free trade zone and a paper presented by Kuwait and Egypt to hold an economic summit are among the economic issues discussed by the Arab leaders.
Kuwait is represented by HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
The Arab summit, dubbed the "Solidarity Summit," is due to announce the Riyahd Declaration on Thursday.
