Mexican remittances increase

Mexico, March 31 (NNN-Prensa Latina) The remittances sent by Mexicans living abroad reached USD3.409 billion in the first two months of 2007, said the Bank of Mexico Friday.

The Bank of Mexico said the data represents an increase of 5.47 percent compared to the same period of 2006, when there were USD3.232 billion.

As of February, remittances represented almost 15 percent of the total received last year, when official institutions counted USD23.05 billion.
