New Cuban information technology university

Havana, March 31 (NNN-Prensa Latina) A new University on Information Technology will open in the eastern region on April 4, aimed at increasing registration in this kind of career.

The school's syllabus is in consonant with that of the Information Sciences University (UCI in Spanish), opened in this capital in 2002, and whose registration increased to 10,000 students throughout the island.

The institution will be located in the Polytechnic Informatics Institute of the Granma municipality of Manzanillo, 460 miles from Havana.

About 300 students, graduated from high school informatics centers, are expected to study in that institute, as part of the country's will to continue socializing the access to new technologies.
