Bush to Meet Mideast Envoy Blair
Washington, September 21, SPA--President George W. Bush will meet Monday with Middle East Quartet envoy Tony Blair, one day after holding talks with Palestinian leaders, the White House said Friday.
Bush will meet in New York City on Monday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and his prime minister, Salam Fayyad, before addressing the U.N. General Assembly.
Bush will meet later with Blair ahead of a November conference in the United States aimed to reviving the stalled Palestinian-Israeli peace process. The Quartet-comprised of the
United Nations, the United States, the European Union, and Russia-has been trying to revive efforts to create a Palestinian state.
At the annual United Nations meeting, Bush also will hold talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Tuesday and Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Wednesday.
