Dogs to keep vigil along border with Bangladesh

Agartala : India's Border Security Force (BSF) troopers will soon use trained dogs to check infiltration and smuggling along Tripura's border with Bangladesh.
"We shall engage trained dogs for guarding the international border and check trans-border crimes," said U.K. Bansal, additional director general (ADG) of BSF.

Thiruvananthapuram : After a 55-year-long process, Kerala nun Sister Alphonsa will be canonised at the Vatican Oct 12.
Father Paul Thellekat, official spokesperson of the Syro Malabar Catholic Church, told IANS that the official declaration and the ceremony would take place during the Synod of Bishops conference, which would be held Oct 5-26 at the Vatican.

Karunakar Das, a resident of Dumuda village, allegedly raped and murdered a seven-year-old girl of neighbouring Naharpatana village Saturday.
