Anti-terrorism conferences to spread Islamic teachings: Arshad

By Mumtaz Alam Falahi, TwoCircles.net

New Delhi : The anti-terrorism conferences being organized in the country by Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (JUH) or other Muslim organizations are not meant to clean the image of the Muslim community or madrasas, said Maulana Arshad Madani, ex-president, JUH on 10th May.

Rather, these conferences are just to spread the Islamic teachings of peace and brotherhood and also to expose hands that are hell-bent to tarnish the image of Islam and the Muslim community, said he who has been instrumental behind these conferences after the 25th February national anti-terrorism conference organized by Darul Uloom Deoband.

Book review: Unveiling the Hidden History of Women Ulema

Book Review- Banat-e Islam Ki Dini Wa Ilmi Khidmat ('The Religious and Intellectual Contributions of Muslim Women') by Yoginder Sikand

Books in English and Urdu on Muslim history rarely, if ever, mention the role and contribution of numerous remarkable Muslim women scholars. Yet, as the author of this fascinating monograph, the late Qazi Athar Mubarakpuri (1916-1996), points out, early Muslim history records many such women, several of whose names are mentioned in contemporary Arab chronicles. Indeed, he asserts, many of these texts had separate chapters devoted to such women. Some early Arab Muslim writers even penned separate books dealing with women scholars.

"The appearance, from time to time, among a people of personalities that are endowed with exceptional capabilities in the different branches of human endeavour is a proof of its intrinsic strengths and creative vitality... The Indian Muslims have reason to be proud of themselves in this respect. They have remained well-supplied with their share of outstanding men who have risen gloriously above the common level in their respective spheres of living and doing." --- Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi ( Ali Miyan)

We present some of these men and women here...

List of prominent Indian Muslims

I think your site is for Indian Muslims. Irfan Hussain in that case should not be in the list of Indian Muslims- he is a Pakistani.

There is no contradiction in Koran what so ever

The approach used on these websites www.whatthewestneedstoknow.com,
faithfreedom.com displayed on the sidelines of this website is similar to the "Weapons of mass destruction" claim. One tailors the reasons and evidence to reach a conclusion. It is a dangerous practice as a rule. What is the result in recent history? Hundreds of thousands of human lives destroyed. Human life is precious irrespective of religion, race, color, national origin, financial standing, disability and so forth. Who so ever is not under attack and terminates a human life or supports the action due to personal reasons is accountable in the hereafter, even if one gets away in this temporary abode called earth.
Due to the pre conceived approach trillions of dollars worth of resources were destroyed.
Lives of the millions of people turned tragic and chaotic.
The destroyed people have lost their direction and purpose.
It is natural for a nation destroyed on a notion to freak out.
They exhaust their energies and frustrations by whatever means and resort to extremism and more destruction. When everyone has someone killed in the family the attitudes become freakish.
Where they are coming from is different from our vantage.
Their behavior is indeed incomprehensible and not acceptable for us.
It is rooted in their mess and misery caused by the destruction brought on them due to a preconceived notion.
Those with apacolyptic fervors, superstitions, baseless convictions, vested interests, fanaticism, or hate jump to conclusions because they have already made up their minds.
Media is successful at steering and indoctrinating people with sensational inputs and feedbacks devoid of adequate reason most of the time.
People who write and speak against Koran and Islam tailor and steer their arguments to reach their preconceived conclusions. They may be backed by some kind of strong convictions, who knows. They use half the truth and refer to Koran out of context and out of ignorance.
Koran was revealed over a period of 23 years in several installment according to the events and needs and has maintained sold integrity, a strong message, and has no contradiction, what so ever. Koran was learnt by heart by scores of companions and did not depend on other media.Even today we have millions of Muslims all over the world who know it by heart. This is by itself a miracle not associated with any other book of that size. Though Koran contains astonishing miracles, scientific, mathematical and historical in nature, Koran is not a book of science or history. Also, it is not a conventional book. It is a set of revelations spread over 23 years. It cannot be read like a science or history book and conclusions drawn. It has to be understood in the light of events, context, grammar, history, culture, character, references, traditions, life histories, sayings and the prevalent conditions at that time. You cannot simply read few verses and draw conclusions and contradict. Muslims scholars have devoted their lives to understand or write exegesis on Koran. I see some people on the web with some level of knowledge about Koran. They point out mistakes with little knowledge they have and, the irony is they believe it. It’s like I read a book or two about medicine and challenge a trained specialist in oncology on the prognosis.
It is true Koran has given an open challenge to prove a single inconsistency. Also, Koran has given directions to use experts in the respective areas to prove contradiction.
. Koran is a revelation from Allah and will always pass the test of time. This concept given in Koran is called falsification test. Science today uses the same methodology to prove a theory and its given in Koran.
They pick and choose evidence to suite their goals and, then speak half the truth.
Their references are generally incomplete and out of context.
Islam is really peaceful, loving, truthful religion and they are not being fair.
Koran is absolutely free of contradiction and the rebuttals to their claims may have already been published at various places. You may check out Dr. Zakir Naik's, Islamicity.com, whyislam.com, thetruecall.com,Islamreligion to name a few. It should be conveyed to one eyed people (figuratively) and blind (figuratively) that it is not the right thing to put the cart ahead of the horse, then not take the responsibility for the destruction or consequences, then insist on staying the course.

Hate breeds ignorance and denial of facts and figures

Few comments aimed at Muslims, are based on hatred, lack of objectivity, ignorance and, disregard for facts and figures. We are all mortals and belong to universal brotherhood and so must respect the truth even if it does not support our views and familial, religious and, political orientations. I would request the editor or someone not biased towards one area irrespective of its credibility, to counter such kind of slanders with facts and figures. Careful research is required to learn and understand the truth.

Let me state few of the facts and figures. Muslims would not be blamed by few on this platform and elsewhere if a comparative statement of bloodshed is produced for all times and locations. I am purposely staying away form direct references to avoid irrational and hateful reaction and, because my objective is sincere. Life is short and everybody knows that no one in this world would gain for ever even if they exercise all their powers and resources. Everything that goes up has to come down sooner or later. It is a historical fact and comes from the very human nature. So we must not be arrogant, hateful and assertive without facts. Instead, we should have the sincere quest for the truth and real numbers. I would like people not to assert themselves to let their anger and ignorance be the basis of their views, instead, ask the right questions and come to a fair conclusion and, not be superficial.

Media and in today’s world also play an important role in forming our views. We must question their motives, findings and fundings. We must not accept those religious people who are building their financial empires on religion and exploit masses. Innocence is not an excuse because we have the responsibility to use our faculties free of external influence and learn the truth. The opinion of these people attacking Islam and Muslims would be balanced if they really try to know the answer to the real question that how many Muslims have been killed by non Muslims in all parts of the world including various countries. We would be amazed to see that the number of non Muslims killed in different parts of the world is hardly any fraction compared to Muslims killed by the non Muslims. We really have to look at the comparative statement before jumping to conclusions and labelling muslims. We must accept the fact that historically by the reason of human inherent nature to protect his home and dignity, occupation and oppression has at all times given rise to reaction and people have always been using their most effective resources to react according to the nature and power of the enemy. Historically, It is evident that this particular human behavior is not going go away. All I am saying is not to be superficial and ignorant and blame. Arrogance is the next step when you know the facts and answers and still insist.

Entire hyderabad will get

Entire hyderabad will get disappointed due to non inclusion of Md Azharuddin , former Indian cricket captain. people might say that he was involved in matcvhfixing case ..but none were proved till date ....

I will second that. He is

I will second that. He is was the best athlete ever to grace the cricket field as an Indian. Match fixers don't have a world record of catcheswhich incidentally he does and he has seldom dropped any catches....no matter what game and how difficult. That is not a sign of a match fixer.

Plus I don't see any court verdict holding him guilty either...just a report...not even a charge.

And I am not from Hyderabad, but am still upset about him being left out.
